LaShawndra Vernon is a driven creative entrepreneur committed to promoting equity. With extensive experience as a mediator, she specializes in translating international human rights and sustainability goals into practical local policy. She is a crisis analysis & mitigation (CAM) coach, serving arts and culture institutions in disaster preparedness. LaShawndra is a published author of training programs on conflict transformation, violence prevention, and harm reduction. Her expertise in public health research and public policy reform has been instrumental in driving policy, systems and environmental change. LaShawndra is also known as Firey Phoenix, a dynamic multidisciplinary artist, writer, and archivist.
LaShawndra is a strategic and experienced administrator with a proven track record of success in developing and implementing innovative programs that support growth and sustainability in public health, arts, and culture sectors. LaShawndra is passionate about using the arts to create positive change in the world. She is the chair of the Bronzeville Advisory Committee for the City of Milwaukee as well as a member of the Cultural Artistic & Musical Programming Advisory Council (CAMPAC) for Milwaukee County.
Martha Collins is an experienced, nonprofit leader and international human rights activist who has dedicated her career to working closely with individuals and organizations that focuses on building power within marginalized communities locally and globally. Martha has excelled in empowering, organizing, and mobilizing people from diverse economic, social and cultural backgrounds to work together for positive change.
Martha is a licensed consultant with the Standards for Excellence Institute®, an ethics and accountability code for the nonprofit sector. Currently, Martha serves on the Women’s International League for Peace & Freedom US and the United Nations Association - USA and Greater Milwaukee boards. Also, Martha was appointed to the Office of Equity & Inclusion - Equal Rights Commission with City of Milwaukee. Previously, she served for three years on the City of Milwaukee Ethics Board.
